Chad's Brain Droppings
December 13 Hey! Look! A new blog entry!Who'd a thunk it? As you can probably tell, I've been super busy lately. Started a new job, as a Build Engineer on the FlipStart software engineering team at Vulcan. Been here three weeks, and I gotta say it feels like a great place to work. Great people, cool technologies, and an all-around great atmosphere. It doesn't hurt that there are 3 (that's right, I said "3") coffee shops in my building.
Anyway, other than that I havn't really been doing much of anything. I still have websites to work on, in addition to my day job, and the occasional opportunity to see my friend sing (which I really enjoy) - someone described her voice as "Timeless Warmth", and I gotta agree. I think that sums it up succinctly.
So, I'll end this for now, and I'll come back when something happens in my life besides work. Like, the fact that my oldest daughter will be getting a driver's license here soon. (Happy Sweet 16, Morgan!)
Later!
October 30 New e-commerce site goes to beta! The site is undergoing beta testing by a large group of people. It will be interesting, as the feedback is already very positive about the design (way to go Thea!). Now I just have wait to see to see how it performs functionally.
So, watch this site for more updates, and when it's ready I'll link you up to some delicious chili pepper truffles!
Chad October 22 Bummin' around town...So, it was a nice day for once. No rain, a little chilly, but sunny and nice. So, my friend Thea and I decided to get out of the house, and away from the computer screens this evening. We went out and took some pictures locally. We've travelled to many places in the past, and we've had a lot of fun taking pics, but we hadn't really done that around here. Until today.
So, if you feel inclined and have a spare moment or two, check out my photo galleries for some new photos. While the north King County area isn't exactly the most exotic place, it's still home, so... until then, I leave you with this:
October 13 Busy... busy... busy...So, I've been really busy lately. I've been coding an E-Commerce site for a PM at Microsoft, who runs her own business. The site isn't complete yet, but when it's completed I will be adding a link here so everyone can check it out (I'll link it when the owner gives the ok). All I can really say is thank goodness for the PayPal API. ;)
In addition, I've been working on other sites with my friend, and business partner, Thea. She comes up with these great designs - absolutely great - and I code them. It works out well! We are also working on a site for a restaurant that will be opening in the summer of 2007 - can't say what it is, as the marketing hype will be starting shortly. Again, when it is ok, I'll link it here :) This is in addition to several other smaller sites that are in process. Like I said: Busy... busy... busy.
My upcoming plans, aside from working, are to attend the Native People's Circle of Hope in Portland, coming up early in November. Beyond that, there isn't a lot happening. I'm hoping to take some day trips, as time permits, to get out and "Do Photography" (obscure Lost Skeleton of Cadavra reference).
But, life is good :)
